The home of dental implants in Arlington, TX.
What Are Dental Implants?
When you lose a tooth, traditional restorative solutions can be temporary or inconsistent. It can be challenging to find a beautiful and worry-free solution. At Oak Dentistry in Arlington, TX, we perform new, innovative implant services that allow us to restore not only your smile but your confidence, in an efficient, pain-free manner.
A dental implant is a non-removable restoration that looks and feels like a real tooth. The implant has three parts.
Dental implants not only look and feel like your natural teeth, but they also provide many benefits for your smile and wellness.
Dr. Schmidgall is committed to providing you with results that take your breath away. Thanks to his outstanding expertise you can be completely sure you are receiving the best treatment, and we can guarantee you’ll be left smiling from ear to ear.
Excelling at our job is something we are very passionate about. We pair our variety of skills with state-of-the-art technology for better outcomes. We use a CBCT scanner for 3D imaging and a 3D Printer that allows digital planning for most predictable implant placement.
Living with a missing or damaged tooth can make you self-conscious and may lead to difficulty eating and speaking. Dental implants provide a secure solution, allowing you to eat and chew with confidence and pain-free.
Proper oral hygiene goes a long way in preserving the integrity of your dental implants. This procedure is meant to make your smile last for a lifetime and it qualifies as an excellent long-term solution.
The Implant Procedure
The process begins with an evaluation and consultation with Dr. Schmidgall. If you are a suitable candidate, Dr. Schmidgall will use your x-rays to assess where the dental implants can be placed. We take this planning process very seriously because it is essential to evaluate the condition of your teeth and jawbone to create a strategy that best suits your needs.
Dr. Schmidgall will use our CBCT machine to render 3D images and put your treatment plan into action. This machine allows us to have a more efficient look at your mouth and custom-make your implants. Once the implant has been built, we’ll assess the fit and determine the cosmetic restoration too.
The process of placing your dental implant involves a few steps. Your implant dentist starts by preparing the jawbone and inserts your custom-made implant. It can take some weeks for the implant to fuse with the bone, something that is known as “osseointegration.” Once the abutment is placed and your gums have healed, Dr. Schmidgall will make an impression of your mouth and start the process for your restoration.
Just as with your natural teeth, excellent oral hygiene keeps implants, artificial teeth, and gum tissue clean and helps them last longer. Scheduling regular dental checkups with Dr. Schmidgall ensures the health and proper functioning of your implants are top notch.
Where do I begin? The staff goes above and beyond. Dr. Schmidgall is so kind and he actually cares about his patients and their comfort. From being seen within five minutes of arriving at the amazing dental room, I couldn’t ask for a better dental experience!
