Composite Fillings

Unsightly silver fillings can hinder the look of your smile and cause further dental issues if not administered correctly. At Oak Dentistry, we have stepped into the 21st century by exclusively using composite tooth-colored fillings. These modern restorations not only look like your natural teeth but actually bond to the remaining tooth for a more stable and sustainable result.

So why might you need a filling? The two most common causes of a tooth cavity are decay and trauma. When your tooth becomes slightly damaged, its health and structure are compromised. Dr. Schmidgall aims to restore your tooth back to health and do so as quickly as possible. Enter composite fillings!

A filling is a very simple procedure and can be completed in just one visit with zero pain. During your treatment, our caring dentist cleans the affected tooth and then adds a special composite resin. Once the resin blends with your bite, it is solidified and polished for a discreet finish.

Dr. Schmidgall’s core principles of care center on him providing beautiful results that are functional and long-lasting. One area in which he excels is the design, creation, and placement of dental crowns. This common restorative treatment is ideal for those with a damaged, cracked, or broken tooth.

Much like a cap, dental crowns protect teeth that have become compromised. The crown is created using an impression of your smile, which is sent to our partner lab for construction. At Oak Dentistry, we are committed to only using the best materials and recommend a tooth-colored restoration to all our patients.

Once the restoration is ready, Dr. Schmidgall carefully places it over your damaged tooth and bonds it into position. You can then benefit from a healthy, functional tooth that blends into your natural smile.

Dental Bridges

When you are missing a tooth it can become a real burden and, what’s more, it could negatively impact your oral health. If you are looking for an effective and efficient solution, then dental bridges could be a for you.

A dental bridge consists of an artificial tooth in between two dental crowns. The crowns act as anchors as they are placed over the two natural teeth on either side of the gap. The crowns are bonded into place and hold the new tooth into position, allowing you to restore your smile.

Bridges are made using high-quality materials at our partner dental lab and are specifically designed for your smile. We only use modern restorations that are created to match the shade and shape of your natural teeth (we use impressions to achieve this), so you can enjoy discretion, as well as, a healthy smile.

Inlays & Onlays

Extreme decay or a mouth injury can cause severe damage to a tooth but not so much that an extraction is needed. If only part of your tooth is missing, our restorative dentist in Arlington, TX, may recommend an inlay or onlay. Much like a crown, both inlays and onlays are designed using the shape of your natural teeth to restore the missing section.

Inlays are the preferred option when the tooth damage only affects the grooves of the tooth and not the cusps, whereas an onlay is the best option for more severe damage that affects the cusps or biting surface.

Both inlays and onlays are placed by first taking an impression of the damaged tooth. Then, our expert will design the new tooth restoration, so it perfectly fits and mimics the missing section. We may make adjustments as we fit the inlay or onlay, but once it is ready, Dr. Schmidgall will bond it into place. You can then enjoy a fully restored tooth that functions just like new.

Being told you need dentures can open up a whole host of questions. The good news is Dr. Ryan Schmidgall can answer those questions and provide you with world-class denture options, including implant-retained dentures.

Although the majority of denture wearers are older, a partial denture might be the ideal option for those with just a few missing teeth. Partial dentures are custom-made to fit your smile and are very effective as they restore function and blend in with your smile.

More traditional complete dentures are ideal if all your teeth are missing on either the upper or lower arch (or both!). This denture option is removable but can give your smile a second chance. The appliance comfortably fits over your gums and allows you to smile with confidence once again.

For a more stable denture solution, Dr. Schmidgall uses his expertise in dental implants to provide you with implant-retained dentures. This option consists of a complete denture being attached to permanent implants for a more stable restoration. We use modern 3D technology to plan and successfully place your implants before fitting your snap-on dentures.

At times, life can get on top of us, and regular visits to the dentist can be pushed aside. Unfortunately, this can lead to more comprehensive and complex dental issues that will need to be addressed by a skilled restorative dentist. The good news is we have a wonderfully talented Arlington dentist, Dr. Schmidgall, who can help you with your restorative needs.

One area in which our doctor excels is full mouth reconstruction. This may sound a little daunting, but this service simply refers to needing multiple cosmetic and restorative treatments to restore your health. Traditionally, candidates for this treatment are those with severe decay, damaged teeth, or those who haven’t visited the dentist for a long time.

If you need reconstructive care, Dr. Schmidgall will guide you through the process and create a tailor-made treatment plan. He may suggest dental implants, teeth whitening, veneers, and similar treatments to improve the health of your smile. Please be assured that we will explain each stage of your treatment and inform you of why we recommend this comprehensive care.

This office was fantastic. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left I was taken care of thoroughly. Dr. Schmidgall and his team really made me feel comfortable before and during the procedure and even called the day after to see how I was doing. I look forward to going to the dentist now. I would recommend everyone in need of dental care to go by this office! Truly great customer care.
